Jv Partners - Finding an Ideal Partner for your Jv Project

The idea behind partnerships is to form a bond that will not only increase traffic to your site, but also give you increased credibility and increased sales. There are always a few things to keep in mind to go along with your goals when partnering up (yes, you should be selective). If you want to form an effective business relationship and increase your exposure, you may want to remember a few basic objectives.

The idea is to build upon each other's specific strengths, and not to strengthen your current weaknesses. What I mean by this is that the focus of both partners teaming up should be to concentrate on what is done best and build upon it. You want to stay focused with your JV partner in the same way that you want to stay focused on your targeted niche.

Another guideline is to pick out a partner who not only shares the same type of niche as you, but is also at the same approximate point of development as you are. For example, it would not be in either partner's best interest if a multi-millionaire web development company teamed up with a complete newbie to promote each other's products or services. Why? Neither partner relates well to the needs of the other in this case and will be very limited in being a benefit to his new team-mate. The newbie can't help the development team with their web design because his skills are limited and the development team can't really help the newbie with his credibility because his experience is based on his own merits and not theirs.

Even though you want to keep in mind your partner's relevance to your experience level, you DO want a partner with unique skills. This will not only increase your knowledge base in an in-depth and hands-on manner, but will also help your partner develop skills relative to what you've learned. This does not mean you need to be each other's mentors, but it does encourage an entire puzzle of development instead of a pieced-together project where certain web elements and skills may be left out. For example, your partner may be a wizard at getting large chunks of traffic and you may be a better sales writer than he his. You don't have to work on improving his sales form right away because you will use your strengths in that area to contribute to the project already. However, he will learn through your work, how to improve himself in that area while you learn how to increase your traffic through techniques he is using to drive people to his site.

These are just a few guidelines to forming a partnership with your new JV; the best way to go out and make it happen is to do exactly that (make it happen) through a trial and error process. I go into more detail in my newsletter, which is linked to my site below.
